New Armory items include the Agatha Gallowglass Armor and Mason Clan Armor, War Club, Shepherd Staff Skin, Falchion, Chopper Skin, Messer, Dacian Sword Skin, Great Sword, Claymore Skin, 10 new face paints, and more. The Vanguard class will have new Giant Claymore and Executioner sword skins. The Highland Sword is a new weapon being added, a massive blade that will have new animations, weapon values, and special attack. While their doing that they'll also have to deal with weaponized bees, which I'm told will leave quite the sting. While players are sacking the village at Aberfell, players will be stealing pigs by carrying them out on their shoulders. This is still the beginning and Torn Banner Studios remains committed to continue increasing the size and scope of Chivalry 2 this year.” Since our 2021 launch, we’ve added new 64-player Team Objective maps, Arena and Brawl modes, and so much more. “We are blown away by the positive reception since launch and Chivalry 2 would not be regarded as one of the best multiplayer games of 2021 without your support. TL DR - While the Masons seem to have abandoned the old Agathian religion, there are a number of hints sprinkled throughout the game that they may still have some religious affiliation.“On behalf of everyone at Torn Banner Studios, I’d like to thank the Chivalry 2 player base,” said Torn Banner Studios CEO & Creative Director Steve Piggott. Any and all comments would be appreciated. Likewise, it could be that the Masons are so ruthless and such avid believers in Man forging their own path, they simply don't care about the dogma of Agatha, despite acknowledging the same religion themselves.īut what do you all think? Is it one way or the other, or am I just looking too deeply into this? Haha. Having recently emerged from a war of conquest to unite the Agathian continent itself, the army was in no shape to be fighting again, especially not in the harsh desert. In 1266, King Alfonso Argon of Agatha embarked on a Crusade to conquer the distant land of Tenosia. While that wasn't necessarily a religious war, the two sides had no problem killing fellow Christians. The Agathian Civil War was the conflict between the Agatha Knights and Mason Order over the control of the continent of Agatha. ![]() ![]() I guess a part of me likens it to the Protestant/Catholic conflict in Ireland. One could make the argument that the Agathian beliefs in birthright and status stem from a belief of divine intervention or destiny, which the Masons would have rejected wholly. Much of the conflict seems to be rooted in economics, politics, and social mobility. Again, the word "hell" itself (especially nowadays) isn't solely associated with religion, but given the context, it probably fits.Īlso, in the Lore section of the home menu specifically, I don't recall seeing anything that explicitly states that the Masons are non- or anti-religious. I know the general/voice guide for the Masons at Coxwell does, and while I haven't equipped the Mason Knight voice, I'm pretty I've heard him say something about sending Agathians to Hell during my escapades across the battlefield. Also, there are a couple of Mason voice lines that make specific references to Hell. While a cross is not an exclusively religious symbol, I think given the medieval setting and the quasi-Christianity that Agatha practices, it's safe to assume it holds some religious meaning. For one, there are a couple cross heraldry options in the Mason customization section. That being said, there've been a few things I've noticed that might also suggest that the Masons are religious, but maybe not as devoted as the Agathians. Not to mention that many of the Agathian voice lines refer to the Masons as pagans and heathens (I'm looking at you Righteous Knight). I believe at one point the Mason general/voice guide even refers to the Agathian beliefs as superstitious. At Galencourt particularly, they have no problem violating the Agathian church, desecrating religious artifacts, assaulting holy men, etc. ![]() If you play through some of the maps, the initial assumption might be that the Masons aren't religious. I ask this question because while the answer seemed initially straightforward, I realized that it might be a bit more complex. I've always enjoyed delving into the lore of any entertainment medium I'm consuming, and Chivalry 2 is no exception.
